On July 22, 2024, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), together with the Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand (EVAT), Chengdu Technical and Industrial College, and BYD Auto Company (China), held an opening ceremony for the training project on new energy vehicle technology and maintenance, Batch 2, at the KMUTT Next Generation Mobility Technology Exchange Center (KMUTT NEXT MOVE). This center is a collaborative initiative within KMUTT, involving the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology and the Mobility & Vehicle Technology Research Center (MOVE). The training will be conducted from July 22 to 27, 2024, by expert lecturers, and a personal competency assessment according to career standards will take place on July 28-29, 2024.
In the morning, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suwit Saetia presided over the project opening ceremony, with representatives from the Thai Electric Vehicle Association, including Mr. Surot Saengsanit, future president of the Thai Electric Vehicle Association, and representatives from Chengdu Vocational & Technical College of Industry, including Mr. Jiao Yan, Director of the International Cooperation Department, and Mr. Phisansart Prasai-ngam, After-Sales Technical Manager of BYD Auto (Thailand) Co., Ltd., welcoming and participating in the event.
The objective of this training is to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills with experts, allowing participants to undergo an examination process to assess their personal competency according to professional standards. Those who pass the assessment will receive a certificate certifying their professional qualifications in the electrical vehicles branch, specifically as a Technician diagnosing and fixing problems with electric cars, level 5.
The training features foreign experts, including Mr. Yu Xiaolong from Chengdu Vocational & Technical College of Industry and Mr. Wang Bowen, Senior Trainer from BYD Auto Co., Ltd., China, who will cover topics such as the basics of electric vehicles and safety in high-voltage electrical systems.
